Berniece Costa 1911-2007 Berniece Costa, 96, of Emden, IL died at 8:30am, October 28, 2007 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington, IL. She was born in Mason City on January 11, 1911 to Grover and Maude (Cooper) Gilmore. She married Salvatore Costa on August 9, 1933 in Iowa; he preceded her in death on May 11, 1969. She is survived by two sons: Fred (Norma) Lind of Bloomington, IL; Myrl (Kathyrn) Costa of Edwards, IL and one daughter: Jo Ann (John) Galgano of Crest Hill, IL. She has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Berniece was a very active member of the Methodist church. She worked at LDC in Lincoln until her retirement. She also owned and operated a beauty salon for many years. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Russell Davenport will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in San Jose. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society.
