Deloris L. Smith

1924-2012

Havana, IL – Deloris L. Smith, 87, of Havana passed away at 6:35 am Friday Jan. 6, 2012 at her home. She was born June 12, 1924 in Menard County the daughter of Henry and Lettie Boehm Budke. She married Albert Smith Feb. 2, 1944 in Lewistown, IL and he survives.

Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, St. Paul's Ladies Aid Society, St. Paul's Altar Guild, she loved to quilt, camp and polka dance. She worked as a lab technician for many years.

She is survived by one son, Larry (Sue) Smith of Havana, 4 grandchildren; Michelle (Steve) Emmons, Amy (Dave) Chambers, Lora Smith and Brandon (Charlett) Smith and 8 great grandchildren; Lindsey and Andrew Emmons; Maya, Ava, Corbin and Ian Chambers and Urban and Ashtan Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, Jan, 9, 2012 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Pastor Wesley Reimnitz. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (from 1:00 until 2:00 pm) on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Mason District Hospital in Havana.
