David Berkshire

Jesse David Berkshire, 67, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Sunny Acres Home. He was born on June 5, 1944 in Hillsboro, IL to Jesse V. and Dorothy (Russel) Berkshire. He married Barbara Watkins on October 13, 1964.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Petersburg; two sons, David W. (Helen) Berkshire of Havana, and James Berkshire of Petersburg; his mother, Dorothy Berkshire of Lincoln; a brother, Randy Berkshire of Lincoln; and two grandchildren, Tiera and Taylor Berkshire. He was preceded in death by his father, and by one brother, Larry Berkshire.

Mr. Berkshire worked as a janitor for PORTA Community School District and was a US Air Force veteran.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Home Services Hospice. Online memorial messages for his family may be left at www.hurleyfh.com
