John Claussen

(1932 - 2011)

John Lowell Claussen, 79, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 4:55 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center.  He was born on January 1, 1932 to John and Exie (Brockman) Claussen.  He married Rose Pritchett on June 24, 1955 at St. Paul’s Church of Christ in Petersburg.  She preceded him in death on May 9, 2004.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis (Sherry) Claussen and Bradley Claussen; five grandchildren, John, Amanda, Jesse, Karen, and Kayla; and two great grandchildren, Kaylee and Kassondra.

He was preceded in death by his wife, and brother, Norman Claussen.

Mr. Claussen was a carpenter. He was a US Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Petersburg VFW Post #6871.

Graveside services will be held for John and his wife, Rose on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pastor Don Winters of St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church in Petersburg will be officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
