Marshall Dean "Mo" Seward 83 of 18124 CR 1610 E. Havana, IL. died March 16, 2005 at 12:10 p.m. at Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born on August 3, 1921 in Astoria, IL. to Henry "Mose" Seward and Carrie Etter. He married Mary Louise Wood on September 20, 1968 in Carbondale, IL., she survives.
He has 4 sons- Wayne D. "Butch" Wyka of Fairbanks, AK., Clarence L. Lawrence of Quincy, IL., Fred C. Lawrence of Havana, IL., and Marion F. Lawrence of Havana, IL.. Two daughters- Donna J. Stapleton of Webb City, MO. and Rose M. Hislope of High Hill, MO. As well as 14 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. One brother- Earl Seward of Oblong, IL., one nephew- Robert Seward and one niece- Bula Bohannon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He was a member of the Astoria VFW and an avid bingo player. He was a laborer at a tree nursery and later worked at Dana House in Springfield for 15 years until her retired in 1983. He also drove a cab in Havana for several years. He was a member of the Army and served in Korea.
Services were held on March 19, 2005 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday March 19 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.
