Mary Ann Koch
(1931 -2011)

Mary Ann Koch, 79 of Petersburg passed away October 17, 2011 in Sunny Acres Nursing Home. She was born December 12, 1931 in Cass County, the daughter of Billy and Marge (Blessman) Lynn. Mary Ann married Edgar “Pete” Koch on April 8, 1950 in Oakford. He passed away on September 1, 2006.
She is survived by her daughters Lynne (Mike) Carpenter of Klamath Falls, OR; Mindy (Doug) Juergens of Hendersonville, NC; Dianne (Don) Irwin of Petersburg, 11 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. Brother John (Joann) Lynn of Havana; Larry (Donna) Lynn of Oakford; Tim (Shirley) Lynn of Stonington; Roszetta (Bryce) Monroe of Athens and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death be her sister Nancy Unruh.
Mary Ann was a member of the Oakford United Methodist Church and worked for the Illinois Department of Public Aid as a case worker for over 25 years. She loved playing cards, reading and in her younger years cross stitch. She also loved her time at Sunny Acres, gathering for coffee with people and visiting. Mary Ann especially loved her “Peanut” the dog and “Callie” the cat.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 5-7 at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral service will be Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Judy Vidakovich officiating, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will follow in the Lynn-Hickey Cemetery, rural Oakford.
