Robert D. "Tud" Crompton 78 of 833 E. Adams St. Havana, IL. died on June 9, 2005 at 1:10 a.m. at his residence. He was born on February 19, 1927 in Havana, IL. to Wilbur Crompton and Margaret Straub. He married Leta Bonnett on June 26, 1955 in Havana, IL., she survives.

He is survived by one sister- Mrs. Howard "Pete" (Margie) Burgett of Havana, IL..

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church as well as former Supt. of SS at St. Paul's. He was also a member of the Havana Optimist Club and Ducks Unlimited. He served in the US. Navy in WWII as well. He worked as a Research Biologist for the Natural History Survey State of IL. and retired in 1990.

Services were held on June 14, 2005 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with a 1 hour prior to service visitation at the church.
