Wm. Harvey Shields

(1930-2011)

Wm. Harvey Shields, 81, of Greenview passed into Heaven to be with the Lord on October 22, 2011. He was born March 1, 1930 to Albert and L. Mildred (Hughes) Shields in Greenview. Harvey married June Zessin on December 30, 1951 in Kenney, IL.

He is survived by his wife June of Greenview, children Jewel (Dick) Eldridge of Greenview; Rita (Ken) Nolan of Greenview; Wayne Shields of Greenview; Bryan (Donna) Shields of Phoenix, AZ; Sheryl (Ed) Garcia of Glenarm; Eric (Angela Haynes) of New Holland; Daryl (Kim Nordwhl) Shields of Petersburg, eight grandchildren and daughter-in-law Chery Shields of Greenview. He was predeceased by one son Wm. Karlyn Shields and sisters Ruby Beard, Laura Mae Mulvihill, Judy Arnfelt and Opal Shields.

Harvey was a farmer in the Greenview area for 32 years and was a truck driver as well until he retired in 1997.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Greenview Christian Church with the Rev. Milton Bost officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. in the church and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the church. Burial to follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sweetwater.
