Dickey E. Snyder

1944-2010

Dickey E. Snyder, 66, of Ft. Madison Iowa formally of Mason City passed away July 2, 2010 at the Fort Madison Hospital. He was born January 21, 1944 in Mason City, Illinois to Herbert and Matilda Snyder. 

Dickey is survived by two sons: Alan and Jacob Snyder of Fort Madison IA, one brother Terry Snyder of Lincoln, IL, three sisters: Barb Miller and Esther Smith both of Lincoln, IL and Wilma Jones of Bath, IL and one granddaughter; Faith Snyder of Clinton, IL.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Marge Bowered and Doris Jennings.

Dickey graduated from Mason City high school in 1963 and then served his country as a United States Marine.  He enjoyed spending time with family, playing bingo and cards, fishing and watching the Chicago Cubs. 

Dickey will always be remembered as a great father, brother, grandfather and friend. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Hurley Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be at the Mason City Cemetery.  Nash Shawgo will be officiating.  Memorials may be left to the Snyder Family.  Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
