Havana, IL - Adelaide J. "Peaches" Beaty, 81, of 713 N. Pearl St., Havana, IL died at 7:00 am Fri. May 20, 2006 at the Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. She was born July 29, 1924 in Fulton County, the daughter of Orrin L. and Marie McCabe Fisk. She married Keith Beaty Dec. 25, 1943 in Independence, MO and he survives.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary, The Royal Neighbors of America, the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick’s Church and she lived on the same farm where she was born until 1989 except during WWII she went to Peoria and worked for Hart-Carter making munitions for the war effort. She and her husband retired from farming in 1989 and moved into Havana.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Kathie) Beaty of Groveland, IL; Patrick (Jane) Beaty of Canton, IL; three grandchildren, Andrea, Christopher, and Aaron; two great grandchildren, Anika and Claire; and one sister Cecelia (Louis) Stelter of Havana.

Services will be held at 10:30 am Wed. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana, Father Stephen Engelbrecht officiating with burial in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday at the Hurley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or the Mason District Hospital in Havana.
