Allece Lavon Dabbs,
77, of Mason City , died at the Mason City Area Nursing Home
at 9:18 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006. She was born
April 26, 1929, in Mason City , to
Carmi and Myrtle (Johnson) Hawks. She married Charles
Ray Dabbs in Mason City , on July 1, 1948. He preceded her
in death in 1983.
Mrs. Dabbs is survived
by one son: Paul Edward (Carol Jean) Dabbs, of
Carlock , IL and three grandchildren: Matthew Charles
Dabbs, Samantha Nicole Dabbs and Jeremy Paul Dabbs, all of
Carlock. Also surviving are one brother,
Carmi L. (Shirley) Hawks of Mason City and one
sister, Leola (Robert) Disbrow of Edmond, OK. She was
preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mrs. Dabbs was a
graduate of Mason City High School , and an Optimist member.
She had served as a CIEDC board member and had worked with
Head Start in
Havana as a foster grandmother as well as being a
member of the Mason City American Legion Ladies Auxillary.
Funeral services will
be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City with visitation two hours
prior. Rev. Kevin Boesen will officiate. Burial will follow
the services at Mason City Cemetery .
