Easton, IL - Allen George Tibbs, 71, of Easton , IL passed away at 3:40 pm Tues. Dec. 26, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield , IL . He was born Sept. 7, 1935 in Springfield , IL the son of Henry George and Ruth Ann Allen Tibbs. He married Rosalyn Rita Welker Oct. 28, 1952 in Palmyra , MO and she survives.

Mr. Tibbs farmed in Mason County for over 30 years and worked at the Illinois Department of Revenue for 8 years retiring in 1997. He also worked several years at International Harvester in Canton and at Caterpillar, Inc., in Peoria . He was an assessor, precinct committeeman, and election judge in Crane Creek Township for many years. He also served as a director of the Mason County Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church .

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Randy Allen Tibbs of Greenview , IL ; one daughter, Deborah Katherine (Raymond) Stout of Petersburg, IL; seven grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Dick of Mason City , IL and one brother, Richard (Donna) Tibbs of Pekin, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Sat. Dec. 30, 2006 at the Easton United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Al Sample. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana . Burial will be at a later date.
