Havana, IL - Anna M. Coats, 92, of 209 E. Washington St., Havana, IL died at 2:32 pm Thurs., March 31, 2006 at Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg, IL. She was born June 25, 1913 in Poplar City, IL the daughter of John Seay and Olive Elizabeth Johnson Gregory. She married Clyde E. Coats Sept. 30, 1933 in Mason County and he died Sept. 26, 1985.

Mrs. Coats is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Dale) Vaughn of Bradford, IL; Rita (Eldon-deceased) Smith of Mason City, IL; and Gail (Gary-deceased) Wright of Peoria, IL. Three sons also survive, Boyd (Lona) Coats of Hideaway, TX; Irwin (Elaine) Coats of Arlington Hts., IL; and Larry (Karen) Coats of Lewistown, IL. Thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Havana, the Mason County Genealogical Society, she attended Normal Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in rural Mason County schools. She later attended LPN school and worked for several years at the Mason District Hospital in Havana.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Tues., April 4, 2006 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Rev. Al Sample. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
