Anna Cookson

Havana, IL - Anna M. Cookson, 86, of 609 N. Harpham St., Havana, IL died at – at the Havana Healthcare Center. She was born March 8, 1919 in Pekin, IL the daughter of Bufford William and Ethel Mae Stewart Bright. She married Jesse B. Cookson Nov. 13, 1936 in Pekin and he died May 12, 1988.

Mrs. Cookson is survived by five sons, Richard of Iowa; Donny of Forest City, IL; George of Easton, IL; Jesse J. of Easton, IL and Johnny of Germany. Also surviving are two daughters, Shirley Ramsey of Springfield, IL and Beverly Smallwood of Creve Coeur, IL; thirty-four grandchildren; fifty-four great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Bright of Hopedale, IL She was preceded in death by twin sons, another son, Charles, four great grandchildren, three brothers, and four sisters.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thurs. June 1, 2006 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Warren Hughes. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund in her name.
