Anna M. Drew

1918 - 2010

Anna M. Drew, 92, of Havana, passed away at Havana Health Care Center at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2010. She was born April 15, 1918 in Jerseyville, IL to Andrew and Anna (Alward) Murphy. She married Jack Patrick Drew on May 7, 1950 in Jerseyville. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1980.

Mrs. Drew is survived by one son, John (companion - Nancy Newlon) Drew of Normal, granddaughter, Jennifer Drew of Astoria, NY, grandson, Jason Hummel and great-grandson, Dustin Hummel. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Allen, Mary (Bob) French and brother, Gene Murphy, all of Jerseyville, sister-in-laws, Dorothy Murphy of Edwardsville and Dorothy Drew of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother William Murphy.

Mrs. Drew was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was a member of PEO and Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Havana. She had worked for CIPS in Jerseyville and at the Mason County Courthouse as the county nurse for many years until her retirement.

Funeral mass will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Fr. David Whiteside will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
