Anna K. Murdock

1912 - 2011

 

Anna K. Murdock, 98, of Havana, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Havana Health Care Center. She was born May 17, 1912 near Easton, IL to Fred C. and Anna (Nehmelman) Leithoff Sr. She married Earl V. Murdock, January 10, 1934. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2000.

Mrs. Murdock is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Dick) Showalter, of Easton, son, Gail (Marion) Murdock of Mechanicsville, MD, five grandchildren, Richard and Mark Murdock, Jackie Bassett, Nancy DeLeon and Eric Showalter, seven great-grandchildren, Crystal, Marissa and Mark Murdock, Jacob and Ian DeLeon and Chip and Jack Showalter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Murdock was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Havana. She had been a leader of the Kilbourne Ramblers 4-H Club. She was a member of the Mason County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and had helped her husband sell seed corn for many years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at the 1st Baptist Church in Havana at 1:00 p.m. with visitation two hours prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Daniel Swihart and Pastor Dave Byrd will officiate.
