Elizabeth Ann Hodgson 1932 - 2007 Kilbourne, IL - Elizabeth Ann Hodgson, 75, of Kilbourne passed away at 2:15 am Tues., Sept. 18, 2007 at her home. She was born May 10, 1932 in rural Pearl, IL to James A. and Helen Phillips Hoover. She married Don Hodgson July 24, 1956 in Pekin, IL and he preceded her in death July 16, 1991. Mrs. Hodgson graduated from Western Illinois University with a BS degree in Business Education. She taught at Anderson Grade School in Mason County for one year, Petersburg High School for two years, tutored a Balyki student for one year, taught at Tallula for two years and taught at Balyki High School for 29 years. She helped Jane Thomas compile and type the last four Marriage Genealogy Books. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, Retired Teachers Association and Mason County Genealogy Association. She helped with the Hodgson Greenhouses and Produce Market. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and sewing. She also helped with the share program in Havana. She is survived by one son; Dale (Julie) Hodgson of Kilbourne, one daughter, Sally (William) Childress of Carol Stream, IL; two brothers, Phil (Becky) Hoover and David (Jeannie) Hoover both of Pittsfield, IL; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; two brothers, Johnnie Bill Hoover and James M. Hoover, one sister, Sue Vetter, one sister-in-law Mayetta Hoover, and a nephew, Roger Hoover. Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home and burial will be in the Kilbourne Cemetery.
