Anthony W. Opp 68 of 1020 E. Ash Macomb, IL formerly of Havana died September 26, 2005 at 11:47 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born on January 26, 1937 in Havana, IL. to Fred Opp and Mildred Phelps. He married Katherine Berg on May 23, 1957 in Havana, IL. and she survives. He has one son- Mark (Deborah) Opp of Havana, IL., three daughters- Lori Opp of Carbondale, IL., Tina M. (Jeffrey) Hopps of Chandlerville, IL. and Valoria (companion: Rod Atterberry) of Havana, IL.. Eight grandchildren and two sisters- Betty (Ed) Nelson of Havana, IL. and Peggy (Eldon) Fletcher of Allen, TX.. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a Volunteer for Salvation Army food pantry in Macomb. Also played Santa Clause for several years. He served in the United States Army. He worked for 18 years at Western Illinois University in the Physical Plant. Services were held on September 30, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home with a visitation from 5-7 p.m. on September 29 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Memorials may be made to Charity of donor's choice. |
