Arnold Dean May

(1929 - 2009)

Arnold Dean May, 80, of Greenview, passed away on October 5, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on May 1, 1929 in Derry, New Hampshire to Grace Nevins. He married Ruth Lucas in Fox Burro, Massachusetts on October 1, 1950.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Greenview; a daughter, Donna Bartlett of Greenview; two sons, David (Stephanie) May of Kansas City, MO, and Brian (Cheryl) May of Bellevue, Nebraska; a brother, Paul (Tenny) Nevins of North Attleboro, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren, Brianne (Nathan) McLaughlin of Mason City, Erin Storey of Omaha, Nebraska, Christina May, Kansas City, MO, Michaela (Joe) Smoyer of Blair, Nebraska, Lucas May, Nathan May, Alex May, and Eli May all of Bellevue, Nebraska; three great grandchildren, Cole Storey, Levi Storey, both of  Omaha, Nebraska, and McKenna Smoyer, of Blair, Nebraska and two on the way.

He was preceded in death by parents, one brother, Eddie Petefield, one sister, Muriel Schecte, and one granddaughter, Amanda Mulry-Bartlett.

He worked as the Director of Admission and as an instructor at Bellevue College of Bellevue, Nebraska. He retired from the US Airforce,  and was also a veteran of the US Navy. 

Mr. May was a member of the Greenview Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 10:30 am at Greenview Christian Church. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 11, 2009 from 3:00 pm till 5:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
