Frank "Art" Behrens

1921-2011

Frank (Art) Behrens 89, of Mason City, IL passed away at St. John’s Hospice on May 8, 2011 at 11:00 p.m.  Art was born in Greenview, IL on August 30, 1921 to Frank and Esther Johnson Behrens.  He married Shirley Goben on December 3, 1947 in Chicago, IL, she survives.

He is also survived by two sons: David (Pam) Behrens of Naples, FL and Drew (Shelly) of Greenview, IL.  Two daughters also survive; Sheila of Mason City and Susan of Reddick, IL.  Also surviving are four grandchildren; April (Tony), Karissa, Cody and Landon and two great grandsons Mathew and Dakin, and one sister: Dorthy Tucker of Mason City.  Also surviving are his lifetime best friends Kenny and Mary Robertson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Evelyn Janosik and one brother; Robert.

Funeral services will be held on May 12, 2011 at the First Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Tim Earle at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home on May 11, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.  Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church or to Christian Care Program-St John’s Hospital.
