Arthur L. Clutts 1931 - 2007
Arthur L. Clutts, 76, of Petersburg, died on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 7:37 am at his residence. He was born on March 5, 1931 in Goreville, IL to Columbus and Nellie Mae Hancock Clutts. He married Kathryn J. Moran on January 2, 1981 in Lincoln, IL. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Petersburg; two sons, Rick Rankin of Rocheport, MO, Mike (Cindy) Rankin of Danvers, IL; four daughters, Carol Rankin of Fresno, CA, Julie (Jeff) Denning of Springfield, IL, Susan Newton of Lincoln, IL, and Lisa Clutts of Weatherford, TX; eleven grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and one sister, Delores (Glen) Tankersley of West Paducah, KY. One stepbrother, Wayne Clutts, preceded him in death. Mr. Clutts retired from Lincoln Developmental Center after thirty-five years, where he had started as a fireman and ended his career as Fire Chief. He had attended the Petersburg United Methodist Church. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1949-1951. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pastor Robert Shook will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2007 from 3:00 pm till 5:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be at a later date in Indian Point Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Petersburg United Methodist Church or Memorial Medical Services Hospice. Online memorials may be made at www.hurleyfh.com
