Arthur E. Nissen 1907 - 2007
Arthur E. Nissen, 100, of Petersburg died at 1:29 pm,
Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg, IL.
He was born in the Petersburg area on September 18, 1907, son of Andrew
and Enger Sorensen Nissen. He married Hazel Bell on February 21, 1936. She
passed away in 1989. He is survived by four children, Gerald (Kathryn) Nissen of
Greenview, Dean (Lee) Nissen of Barrington, Katherine (Jim) Lush of Heyworth,
and Dale (Jan) Nissen of Geneva; seven grandchildren, and ten
great-grandchildren. Two brothers, two sisters, and his wife preceded him in
death.
Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2007. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday, September 28, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Petersburg with Rev. Thomas Eggley officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Menard
