Arthur Wayne Sarff
1919 - 2006
Mr. Sarff was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana; the Instrument Society of America; IBEW; Ducks Unlimited and The Modern Woodman. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, the outdoors and Cubs baseball games. Mr. Sarff worked at Caterpillar for 13 years and Illinois Power in Havana for 30 years until he retired in 1981.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mary (Ralph) Howerter of Havana; four sons, Wayne (Grace) Sarff, Kenny Sarff, Dennis (Mary) Sarff all of Havana and Rick (Cindy) Sarff of Petersburg, IL. Seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren also survive along with one brother, James (Kathleen) Sarff of Chandlerville, IL and one sister Margaret Wayve Gibbens of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son; a brother, Robert Sarff and two infant siblings.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wed. July 19, 2006 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana conducted by Pastor Martin W. Liebmann, Jr. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.
