Barbara Ann McBride 1945 - 2008
Barbara Ann McBride, 63, of Havana, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 9:45 a.m. She was born November 19, 1945 in Havana, to Oliver and Judith (Cooper) Matthews. She married David McBride at the 1st Baptist Church in Havana on July 23, 1967. Mrs. McBride is survived by her husband, David of Havana, one daughter, Kendra (Brian) Voights of Sherman, IL one son, Shane McBride of Peoria and one grandson, Braden Voights of Sherman. Also surviving are two sisters, Linda Gren of Havana and Marilyn (Donal Dean) Curless of Bath and one brother, Bob (Laura) Matthews of Brighton, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Betty Matthews. Mrs. McBride was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Havana, where she was a deacon and the record keeper for the Sunday School for many years. She had worked as a teacher at the Big Apple Nursery School in Havana for 25 years. Also, she was a member of the Havana chapter of the Omega Alpha Sorority "Coffee Girls." Funeral services will be held at the 1st Baptist Church in Havana at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Visitation will be held Monday evening at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Pastor Dave Byrd will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
