Beatrice Lillian Eilks (1917 - 2008)
Beatrice Lillian Eilks, 91, of Petersburg, died on Tuesday,
December 16, 2008 at 8: 45 pm at Sunny Acres Home. She was born on November 22,
1917 in Pleasant Plains to Claude and Lydia Wilcox Huffman. She married Paul
Eilks. He preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Frank) Miller of
Springfield, MO, Connie (Russell) Baugher of Greenview, and Phyllis (companion,
Ray Toland ) Garner of Petersburg; a sister, Lois (Wayne) Shanle of Riverton; a
brother, Merle Huffman of Redding, CA; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson,
Darin Cummings, two sisters, and two brothers. She retired from the State of Illinois. She was a member of First Christian Church of Petersburg,
Petersburg Women’s Club, and Petersburg Garden Club. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20,
2008 at 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Jon Bormann will be
officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s
