Bernice Nottingham

Bernice E. Nottingham, 92, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 1:25 am at Menard Convalescent Center. She was born on November 9, 1918 in Petersburg to Louis and Rose Duncan Eckhoff. She married Harlan Nottingham in 1937.
She is survived by daughter Judy (Bill) Hopper of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Connie Nottingham of Springfield; three grandchildren, J.O. Wulf of Virginia, IL, Brian (Kate) Nottingham, and Tim (Tasha) Nottingham, all of Springfield; and great grandchildren, Cameron, Emma, Cecilia, Max, Esther, and Kylee Nottingham, all of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Gene; and brother, Arthur.
She had worked at Carpenters, The Whistle Stop, and Potter’s Drugstore. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pastor Karen Krieger will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
