Betty Louise Sembell Jones

1935 - 2010

Betty Louise Sembell Jones, 75, of Bath, passed away at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield at 10:15 p.m. on Friday, December 24, 2010. She was born December 17, 1935 in Athens, IL to Walter and Edith (Jordan) Sembell. She married Edward Jones Jr. on September 15, 1952.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, three sons, Edward (Bonita) Jones Jr., of Loami, Mark (Rhonda) Jones, Michael (Deanna) Jones, both of Greenview, two daughters, Betsy (Richard) Douglas, of Jackson, AL, Rebecca Jones of Bath, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Linda Mably of Bath, Bonnie (Dennis) Klaves of Riverton and Karen Behrends of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Fred Allen Jones, daughter, Betty Mae Jones, three grandchildren, one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Jones worked at Lehn & Fink in Lincoln for several years and was also a cook at the Greenview schools for many years. She had sold crafts at craft shows for many years.

Funeral services will be held at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery at Snicarte. Rev. Julie Wells Blythe will officiate.
