Beulah Aletha Ishmael 1918 - 2009
Beulah Aletha Ishmael, 91, of Chandlerville, passed away at her home at 4:03
a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was born February 22, 1918 in Cass Co.,
IL to John and Mary (Snyder) Blair. She married Cloyde Ishmael on October 28,
1935 in Virginia,IL.
Mrs. Ishmael is survived by her husband of 74 years, five children, Wayne
(Connie) Ishmael, of Pryor, OK, Wandalee (Rich) King of Oakford, Warren (Nancy)
Ishmael of Chandlerville, Sam (Janice) Ishmael of Athens, Sarah (Melvin)
Witherell of Oakford and daughter-in-law Mary Ishmael of Greenview. Also
surviving are two sisters, Eleanor Sandidge and Claudine (Alvin) Pepmeyer and
two brothers, John "Red" Blair and Paul (Verna) Blair as well as nineteen
grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 24
great-great grandchildren and one extended grandson, Tom (Janice) Busby of
Rushville. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister,
Doris Hoesman, two
brothers, Willis and Frank Blair, one son, William Ishmael, one granddaughter,
two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Ishmael loved her family and cooking. She was always willing to help
others. She was a homemaker and had formerly owned Grandma's Kitchen restaurant
in Oakford, IL.
Funeral services will be held at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in
Chandlerville, on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be
held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
Melony Ellis, Mrs. Ishmael's granddaughter, will officiate the services. Burial
will follow the services at Oakford Cemetery in Oakford, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Cass-Schuyler
Hospice, Chandlerville American Legion Post #694 or Menard County Rescue Squad.
