Beverly J. White

1928 - 2010

Beverly J. White, 82, of Athens, passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield at 5:35 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010. She was born April 25, 1928 in Jacksonville, IL to Joe and Gertie (Lippert) Fletcher. She married Larry L. Vaughn and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. White is survived by one son, Denny Vaughn of Goreville, IL, three grandchildren, Scott Vaughn of Morton, Todd Vaughn of Marion and Stephanie Harrison of San Antonio, TX as well as four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nephews, Gary Sarff of Easton and Roger Sarff of Peoria, IL and long time friend and companion, Bob Eden of Athens, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Inez Sarff and husband, Larry.

Mrs. White graduated from Balyki High School and worked as an LPN for many years. She later worked as an Account Tech in Child Support for the Illinois Department of Public Aid.

Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 with visitation two hours prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery near Bath. Pastor Milton Crain will officiate.
