William M. Painter 1926 - 2008 Havana, IL - William M. Painter, 81, of Marquette Hts., IL formerly of Havana passed away at 9:30 pm Sat. Feb. 23, 2008 at Manor Care in Peoria. He was born in Mason County on June 26, 1926 to William Earl and Ann Larcum Painter. He married Rosa Lee Row May 2, 1948 and she died July 18, 1996. He later married Kathleen Shoemaker Aug. 29, 1999 and she died Sept. 16, 2002. Mr. Painter was in management at Caterpillar, Inc. until he retired. He is survived by two daughters; Joyce (Michael) Shackelford of Marquette Hts, and Wanda (Kenneth) Powell of New Hampshire; one son, Donald (Marti) Painter of Florida; two step-daughters, Lily (Mike) Mibbs of Kilbourne, IL and Ruth (Mike) Richardson of Easton and one step-son, Kenneth Shoemaker of Oakford, IL. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two daughters, and several brothers and sisters. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wed., Feb. 27, 2008 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with burial following in the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
