Johnnie L. "Bud" McDaniel

1921 - 2011

Kilbourne, IL – Johnnie L. “Bud” McDaniel, 90, of Kilbourne passed away at 12:15 am Sunday, Oct 23, 2011 at the Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg, IL. He was born Oct. 5, 1021 in Mason County the son of John George and Mary Elizabeth (Hamilton) McDaniel. He married Laura Belle Ward May 25, 1946 in Mason County and she survives.

He was a member of the Kilbourne Baptist Church, a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army, and a Member of Havana Post #6408 VFW. Mr McDaniel was a Cement Mason, Farmer and Mechanic.

He is survived by 5 sons; Kenneth Leo McDaniel of Leewood, Kansas, Richard Eugene McDaniel of Belleuview, Nebraska, George Arthur McDaniel, Robert Ward McDaniel and Thomas Lowell McDaniel all of Kilbourne, IL. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 1 step great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles, 4 sisters his parents and 2 grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Rev. James Dearing with burial to follow in the Kilbourne Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
