Robert E. "Bud" Weaver

1922 - 2007

Havana, IL - Robert E. "Bud" Weaver, 85, of Havana passed away at 5:07 am Thurs., Sept. 20, 2007 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born Jan. 9, 1922 in Liverpool, IL the son of Robert Leo and Bessie Purtle Weaver. He married Barbara Reed Jan. 30, 1948 in Lewistown and she survives.

Mr. Weaver was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. He was a member of the 29th Division who landed on Omaha Beach. He is a member of the Havana VFW Post # 6408 where he has served as commander two terms. He has also served at the state commander of the VFW. Mr. Weaver is a member of The Lewistown Masonic Lodge and the Havana Church of Christ. He drove a truck for J. D. Street for 35 years retiring in 1981.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Allen Weaver of Havana, Robert Leo Weaver of Bonito Springs, FL; one daughter, Debra Jean Scaggs of Washington, IL; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers; Cliff Weaver of Wataga, IL and Carroll Weaver of Havana; and one sister, Lena Weaver of Wataga, IL. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia and Urene and two brothers, Calvin and Bill.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sat. Sept. 22, 2007 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Warren Hughes. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service with a Masonic Service at 1:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mason District Hospital or the Havana Healthcare Patient activity fund. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
