Bureal McGrew 1924 - 2010 Burel McGrew, 85, of Havana, passed away at 10:55 a.m. at Havana Health Care Center. He was born April 20, 1924 in Monmouth, IL to Willard and Iva (VanEtten) McGrew. He married Shirley Ring and she preceded him in death. He married Edna Foutch on January 8, 1960. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2009. Mr. McGrew is survived by four daughters, Becky Aberle of Velva, ND, Stacey (Steve) Dill of Decatur, Sandra (Don) Wommack of Havana, LaBuryl (John) Clark of Havana and one son, Dan Wrestler, of Havana, 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ilda Snowden and Nellie Quinn, and one brother, John “Corky” (Anna Lou) McGrew of Havana. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill McGrew, two wives, his parents, two sons, Jeff McGrew and John Wrestler and one daughter, Susie Fernetti one great-grandson. Mr. McGrew was of the Baptist Faith. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #6408, where he was a former commander as well as a former member of the Havana Optimist Club. He served in the Navy during WWII. Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to Mason District Hospital or to Havana Health Care Resident Activity Fund.
