Carl J. Garlisch

Carl Garlisch died 5:20 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. He was born July 9, 1915 to Otto and Augusta (Proehl) Garlisch in rural Forest City, IL. He married Anna K. Jacobs February 5, 1946 in Chapin, IL.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Eldon (Cheryl) Garlisch of Mason City, Roger Garlisch of Mason City, Albert (Brenda) Garlisch of Easton; two daughters, Janet (Donald) Whiteman of Pekin, IL, Karlene (Alan) Grelck of Bolingbrook, IL; one sister, Matilda (Julius) Wiemer of Forest City, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 5 step-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and one step-grandson.
Mr. Garlisch was a farmer his whole life, member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church at Allen's Grove, and the Mason County Farm Bureau.
Services for Mr. Garlisch will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2005 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Derek Riddle will be officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2005 at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, IL. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mason City Area Nursing Home or St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
