Carl Jones

Carl Edward Jones, 61, of Oakford passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 6:58 pm at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on February 20, 1950 in Springfield, IL to Andrew and Wanda Masten Jones. He married Shirley Denton.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rexroad-Jones of Oakford; son, Matthew Jones; daughter, Melissa Jones; and father, Andrew Jones, all of Petersburg; stepdaughter, Shanna (John) Dejames of Okay, OK; stepson, Matthew (Lisa) Rexroad of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Dallas, Kaylee, Brianna, Alissa, Joshua, Jonathan, and Allan.

Mr. Jones had worked as a machinist at Eaton Hydrolics. He loved NASCAR, golf, and St. Louis Cardinals.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Keith Masten will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. There will be a luncheon after the funeral service at Oakford United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Menard County Rescue Squad or to his family.
