Carol Jean Baker, 77

On March 23, 2011 at 2:55pm, God welcomed home his faithful servant Carol Jean Baker, 77.  She was born May 4, 1933 in Petersburg, Illinois to Virgil and Lois Forden, who both preceded her in death.  Carol graduated from Athens High School and Memorial Medical Center’s School of Nursing. Carol was administrator at Sunny Acres nursing home, nursed at McFarland Zone Center, employed at Menard County as the health nurse, clerked for the House of Representatives, and worked and retired from Memorial Medical Center. 

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Billy B Baker.  She has three children; Charles H (Patty) White III, Linley V (Rebecca) White, and Lora L (John) Tibbs, and one stepson Tim (Cindy) Baker. 

Carol was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren Alisa White, Kylea (Nathan) Tibbs-Hnizdo, and Kara Tibbs.  She had three step grandchildren Tara Baker, Aaron (Emily) Baker, Renee Baker.  Carol was also the proud great-grandmother to Isaac Hnizdo.

One of Carol’s joys in life was spending time with her two Chihuahua’s Chica and Poco.

Services will be held Sunday March 27, 2011 at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, IL.  Visitation will be held at 2:00pm and funeral at 3:00pm. Graveside services will follow at Oakland Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Bill.

Donations can be made in Carol’s memory to Memorial Hospice, Menard County food pantry, and Petersburg Tree City.
