Clarence Edward Frost, Jr., 87, of
Havana, formerly of Mattoon and
Shelbyville, IL passed away at 6:35 am
Thurs., Dec. 18, 2008 at the Havana Healthcare
Center. He was born Nov. 8. 1921 in Charleston,
IL the son of Clarence and Ethel Irene Gill
Frost, Sr. He married Mary Ann Duggins Jan. 13,
1944 and she preceded him in death Feb. 12,
1991. He later married Betty Griffin in March of
1993 and she preceded him in death in October of
2004.Mr. Frost was an avid singer and had
worked for 30 years for Blaw Knox Road Paving in
Mattoon. He was a veteran of the US Army during
WWII. He was stationed much of his time
in the Phillippines and the Eastern Mandates. He
is a lifetime member of Mattoon Post #4325 VFW.
He is survived by two daughters; Jane L.
(Gene) Harris of Havana and Ruth Ann (William
T.) Hutton of
Indianapolis, IN and one step daughter
Barb (Stan) Johnson of Shelbyville, IL. Also
surviving are three grandchildren; Melanie
Harris Bleem, Shannon Hutton Pierce and Corey
Hutton; one step-grandson,
David Johnson and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister; Mary
Peters; two brothers; Robert and Starr Frost;
one granddaughter; Marne Jean, one
step-grandson, Doug Johnson, his parents and his
two wives.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a
memorial service will be held at a later date.
