Clarence W. Pfeiffer 1917 - 2008
Clarence W. Pfeiffer, 90, of Jacksonville, formerly of Easton and Washington, IL passed away at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville, IL at 2:23 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2008. He was born June 2, 1917 in Forest City, IL to Louis and Sophia (Schmidt) Pfeiffer. He married Irene Moldenhauer on October 15, 1940 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Topeka. She survives. Mr. Pfeiffer is survived by his wife Irene of Knollwood Retirement Village in Jacksonville, one son: Duane (Louise) Pfeiffer of Jacksonville, and one daughter: Jenelle (Robert) Warner of Washington, IL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and one sister. Mr. Pfeiffer was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Topeka, where he was also a member of the Men’s Club. He had also bowled on the church bowling team for many years. He farmed in the Easton area for many years and also raised hogs and cattle. Funeral services will be held at his church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the services at St. John’s Cemetery. Rev. Earl Kinney will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
