Clinton Melvin O'Bryant
1924 - 2010

Clinton Melvin O'Bryant, 85, of Havana, passed away at his home at 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was born October 2, 1924 in Canton, IL to Harry Charles and Theresea (Wilcoxen) O'Bryant. He married Shirley Marshall on July 21, 1955 at Maple Mills. She survives.
Mr. O'Bryant is survived by his wife of Havana, three sons, Alan O’Bryant of Lewistown, Jerry O'Bryant of Lacrosse, WI, Jack O'Bryant of Lewistown, three daughters, Cheryl Roat of Goodyear, AZ, Jean Snow of Irving, Jane Smith of Hillsboro as well as seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Elva Bainter of Lewistown. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Karen Shaw, two grandsons, Curtis O'Bryant and Chris White.
Mr. O'Bryant was a member of the Havana Church of the Nazarene and VFW Post #5001 in Lewistown, IL. He served in the US Army in Japan during WWII. He is a retired farmer and business owner, owning Nu-Way Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Havana from 1959 - 1967 and owned and operated Dairy Queen stores for 43 years starting in 1967.
Funeral services will be held at the Havana Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton at 2:00 p.m. Rev. James Buchanan will officiate, assisted by Rev. Sue Roat and Rev. Lester Burgard.
