Clyde E. Goben, 88, of
East Peoria
,
IL
, formerly of
Pekin
, passed away peacefully,
Sunday October 15, 2006
at
2:05 p.m.
with his family by his side. He was born in Mason County, IL on
September 6, 1918
to Clay and Bessie (Force) Goben. He married Jessie Nall on
January 31, 1942
. She survives.
Mr. Goben is survived by three daughters: Barbara Goben and
Frieda (Donald) Shinall of East Peoria and Margaret Voll of
Pekin
,
IL
; two sisters: Joyce Goodin and Margie Reitz of
Clearwater
,
FL
; two grandsons: Daniel and Gannon Shinall of
Peoria
and one granddaughter, Jill (Voll) Hart of Pekin. Also surviving are two
great-grandchildren, Jordan Hart of
Pekin
and Cesar Shinall of
Peoria
. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and one
granddaughter, Christine Marie.
Clyde
retired from Caterpillar management after 41 years in August of 1981. He
enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Funeral services for Mr. Goben will be held on
Wednesday, October 18, 2006
at
1:00 p.m.
at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with visitation from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow the services at
Bethel
Cemetery
in rural Chandlerville. Rev. Duane Turley will officiate.
