Corda McClure

Havana, IL - Corda M. McClure, 81, of Ipava, IL formerly of Havana passed away at 5:34 am Sat. Dec. 17, 2011 at the Prairie City Rest Home. She was born May 25, 1930 in Mason County the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle (Gilmore) Huston. She married Woodrow Lane, May 27, 1950 in Peoria and he died July 9, 1982. She later married Derald R. “Mac” McClure Nov. 27, 1982 and he died Jan. 10, 1997.

Corda worked as a nurse's aide at the Mason District Hospital in Havana and following that in 1976 she owned and operated her own restaurant, Corda's Cafe, in Havana for many years. She was a member of Havana Post #6408 VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters; Lyndia (Martin) David of Lewistown, IL; Paulette Howard of Ipava and Crystal (Bob) Stufflebeam of Canton, IL. 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold, 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Rev. David Utt. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Spoon River Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
