Charles “Chod” Richard Potter
1923 - 2006

Charles “Chod” Richard Potter, 82, of
Tallula, died on Monday, September 4, 2006 at his residence. He was born on
November 26, 1923 in Tallula to Richard and Eva Homer Potter. He married
Mary Lee Boatman in 1952. She preceded him in death.
Charles is survived by three sons,
Robert (Elsie) Potter of Tallula, Richard (Susan) Potter of Petersburg, and
David (Kathy) Potter of Springfield; one daughter, Wendy (Gene) Sathoff of
Atterberry; two sisters, Georgia Sinclair of Tallula, and Manerva Jane Keirl
of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He worked as a asphalt plant operator
for 37 years. He was a Life Member of the Petersburg VFW, AMVETS in
Jacksonville, and the Local #965 Operating Engineers. He was also a member
of the American Legion in Jacksonville.
Funeral services will
be held on Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg at
10:00 am. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from 6:00 pm
till 8:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Farmers Point
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tallula BLS.
