Daisy W. Minor-Miller
1922 - 2011

Daisy W. Minor-Miller, 89, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Oak Terrace Nursing Home in Springfield. She was born on June 26, 1922 in Pleasant Plains to Richard and Fredericka M. “Rickie” Disque Wells. She married Herschel Lynn “Penn” Minor. He preceded her in death in October 1980. She later married Walter N. Miller. He preceded her in death in May 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, June Simmons and Jacque (Larry) Boehm; one son, Daniel E. (Missy) Minor; a daughter-in-law, Kris Minor; one son-in-law, Larry Rebbe; fiancée to Roderick, Betty Ames, two sisters, Rosa Lucht and Nellie Janssen; 32 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; three sons, William L. Minor, Roderick W. Minor, and Patrick Z. Minor; two daughters, Marsha A. Minor and Barbara M. Rebbe; three grandchildren, Steve, Ricky and Tommy Minor; two sisters, Eva Phillips and Gladys Clemmens; and one brother, Fritz Wells and daughter-in-laws Dottie and Bev Minor.
Daisy was a homemaker and a member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church. She loved her family, they were her whole life.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg with Rev. David Daniels officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, American Cancer Society, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
