Dale K. Stahl

1936 - 2010

     Dale Kirby Stahl, 73, of Murphysboro, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:20 pm at St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro. He was born on August 14, 1936 in Petersburg, IL to Kirby and Irene Ishmael Stahl.  He married Judith Park and later married Norma Hoffman.

     He is survived by three daughters, Linda (husband Bob) Darrah of Tampa, FL, Mary Ann (husband Gerry) Beard of Arenzville, and Jana (husband Shawn) Hirst of Makanda.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Taylor Darrah and Ashton and Kennedy Hirst.

     He was preceded in death by his wife Norma.

     Mr. Stahl graduated from Petersburg Harris High School in 1954 and attended Western Illinois University in Macomb.  He retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. after working for them for many years.  Mr. Stahl had been a member of the IBEW, Clinton Lodge #19 AF&AM, and the Petersburg Jaycees. He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening and hunting.

     Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 10:00 am and ending with Masonic Rites at 11:15 am at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg.  A private family graveside service will be held at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospital c/o grateful patient program/ Dale Stahl, 2 South Hospital, Murphysboro, IL 62966 or Big Muddy Assisted Living, 5 North Shawnee Dr., Murphysboro, IL 62966.
