Roy "Dale" DeMonbrun

1923 - 2008

Roy “Dale” DeMonbrun, 84 of Oakford died March 1, 2008 at Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg.

He was born October 30, 1923 to Roy and Sarah Bradley DeMonbrun in Petersburg. He married Isabel Irlam, he later married Martha Klinschmidt both of these dear women precede him in death.

He is survived by one son Roy (Kelleigh) DeMonbrun of Oakford, his fiancée Joann Garlish of Forrest City, his dear granddaughter Alexandria DeMonbrun also of Oakford, and one sister Marilyn McDonald of Fairfax, Va.

His two dear wives, two brothers, and one sister precede him in death.

Mr. DeMonbrun worked as a machinist for Ideal Industries for over 22 years, and also worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Oakford United Methodist Church, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, gardening, but most of all he enjoyed watching his granddaughter during horse shows, and her participation in sporting events. He was also an avid Cardinal baseball fan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 5, 2008, at Oakford United Methodist Church, Rev. Dennis Smith will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday March 4, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Jacksonville.
