Darlene K. Messman
1928 - 2006
Mrs. Messman was home maker, member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana, St. Paul’s Ladies Aid, was a Quiver Twp. election judge for 10 years, the Mason County Farm Bureau, an assistant Den Mother for Cub Scouts, and an assistant 4-H Leader.
She is survived by four sons, Allen (Ruth) Messman of Manito, Roger (Janet) Messman, Duane (Shellie) Messman and John (Destiny) Messman all of Topeka; seven grandsons, two granddaughters, three great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Also surviving are three sisters, Emily Roos of Havana; Erma Ray of Springfield, IL and Rosalie Bayless of Pekin, IL and one brother, Alvin Hackman of Havana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson, Cole.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Wed. Dec. 27, 2006 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana conducted by Pastor Martin W. Liebmann, Jr. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery near Topeka. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Tues. At the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Cemetery Fund or the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Peoria. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
