David "Capt. Dave" Long
1947 - 2006 Havana, IL - David "Capt. Dave" Long, 59 of Havana passed away at 9:15 pm Fri. Oct. 6, 2006 at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1947 in Pekin, IL the son of Adolph and Betty Loraine Perkins Long. He is survived by his father of South Pekin, two daughters, Yvonne Long of Peoria, IL and Deanne Smith of Havana; five grandchildren, Alex, Brian, Adam, Jereth and Hannah and one sister, Denice Ray of Havana. His mother and one sister, Sue Long preceded him in death. He worked for 28 years as a river boat captain for WKN (Western Kentucky Navigation) piloting the "Lois Ann" and the "Leviticus" Cremation rites are to be accorded and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spoon River Hospice. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com. |
