Topeka, IL - Delbert L. Porter, 70, of 23036 E. Manito Rd. , passed away at 11: 00 am Wed., Feb. 14, 2007 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria . He was born Oct. 3, 1936 in Nokomis , IL the of George and Ethel Mae Mosley Porter. He married Charlotte Cline July 8, 1964 in Ramsey , IL and she survives.

Mr. Porter was a power truck operator at Caterpiller, Inc., retiring Sept. 1, 1994. He was a member of the Havana Church of Christ, a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany and Viet Nam and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by one son, Duane Porter of Kilbourne , IL ; one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Moss of Hopedale, IL, two grandsons and three step granddaughters. He was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Warren Hughes. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana . Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
