Denzil Lane Clark 1932 - 2009
Denzil Lane Clark, 77, of Forest City, passed away at home at 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009. He was born on January 10, 1932 in Mason County to Ruth (Hatfield) Clark. He married Shirley J. Powell on November 12, 1977 in Easton. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2003. Mr. Clark is survived by two sons, Douglas (Florence) Clark of Forest City and Bruce (Cathy) Clark of Bath, three step daughters, JoDee (Mark) Pedigo of Mapleton, Lisa (Jeff) Bonnett of Springfield, Terry (Dirk) Heinhorst of Manito, 5 grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Clark, Shawn Guillams, Jake and Luke Brooks, and five step-grandchildren, Sara and Scott Pedigo, Joel Bonnett, Natalie and Drake Heinhorst and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one step brother, Loren Smith, two step sisters, Kay Krey and Francis Junker, 3 half brothers, Jerald, Eldon and Otis Smith and two half sisters, Joyce Mackie and Darlene McClure. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harold Clark, two sisters, Violet Chasteen and Juanita Oest and one step-brother, Howard Smith. Mr. Clark was a former member of the Shriners, Lakewood Golf Club Board, Jackson-Keen Legion Post in Mason City, Havana Optimist Club and Mason County Farm Bureau. His passions were golf, hunting and farming. He had farmed his whole life in Mason County. He was also a former private airplane pilot and had served in the Navy. Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Guengrich officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice or Mason District Hospital. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
