Donald F. Lawrence, 71, of Havana, passed away at OSF-St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria at 10:27 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011. He was born January 13, 1940 in Havana to Frederick and Lois (Hasty) Lawrence. He married Catherine Fletcher on July 3, 1958 in Snicarte.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Catherine, of Havana, daughter, Lori (Dan) Wright of Havana, son, Jeff (Stacy) Lawrence of Jacksonville, FL, and three grandchildren, Noelle, Dustin and Sophia. Also surviving are his sister, Joyce (Art) Rich of Wesleco, TX, three half brothers, Fred Jr., Marion and Clay and half sister, Rosemary. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Lawrence.

Mr. Lawrence was a member of the 1^st Baptist Church in Havana and IUOE Local #649. He had formerly been a member of the Havana Jaycees and the Havana School Board. He worked as an Operating Engineer, operating heavy equipment for many years.

Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Gilbert Fletcher will officiate.
